Jeff Baird

Middays/Afternoons 9:00am - 6:00pm

Jeff got bitten by the "radio bug" early. As a freshman in college in Washington, he began working the late night shift at the local radio station... and the rest, as they say, is history. One marriage, two kids, five states and twenty three years later he's still at it. Returning to the Great Northwest was a dream come true for him and his family. Along with being on the air in the morning, Jeff also serves as the program director for 94-5 MIX FM.

You just might bump into Jeff around town, as he keeps busy on the golf courses, riding motorcycles, coaching sports and fishing on the McKenzie.

Mornings 5:30am-9:00am

Something I read often on my report card was, “A delight to have in class, but tends to socialize at inappropriate times.”  Good to know not a lot has changed.  I am blessed with 2 terrific adult children who keep me ever honing and evolving my humor. I LOVE to eat just about anything but can’t understand how fish eggs and oysters became food of the wealthy.  I LOVE chapstick and lipgloss but am annoyed by people who wear too much makeup. I run (slowly), golf (poorly), cook (with spice), cherish my time with friends and family (obsessively) and think my husband is about the most patient, kind man on earth (proudly).

What’s your most embarrassing on-air moment?
I am particularly talented at belching.  I mean, I’m reeeeally good at it.  One morning accidentally left my microphone on and gave an award winning gas expulsion right over a commercial.  The phones started ringing off the hook and to my sincere surprise, I was more applauded than chastised.

Who’s a famous person you’d like to sit with and chat casually?
Nobody famous interests me that much.  I’d rather have my grandparents back for an afternoon to ask them about the things that matter.  Who they are, where they came from and what made them happy.

Summarize life in one line:
I can’t look back and mourn my last bad decision, I’m too busy working on my next regret.

Which Wonder Twins power would you activate:
Super Metabolizo.  Donuts, cupcakes and nachos don’t stand a chance.

Which Saturday morning cartoon would you never miss?
I’m a purist.  Just give me one hour of the original Looney Tunes and I’m in heaven.

What matters to you?
Being nice.  It takes so little effort and its effect ripples out to everyone.

Mornings 5:30am-9:00am

Although I'm still new to the Eugene area, I was born in Missoula, Montana so living among trees feels right-at-home for me.  I've also lived in Tucson, Phoenix, Davenport, Jefferson City, Madison and San Francisco (to name a few).  The oldest of my 3 kids is a college student and my youngest is heading into Jr. High.  I stay active by jogging and playing  ice hockey.  Something everyone should know about me is that even though I'll laugh at you when you fall, I'll also be the first to reach out a hand to help you back up.  I'm courteous like that.

What is your most embarrassing on-air moment?
The one I remember most clearly is when I lived in the midwest and announced an upcoming fishing tournament with the phonetic pronunciation for crappie.  If it's pronounced like "croppie" they should spell it that way!

Who’s a famous person you’d like to sit with and chat casually?
If I'm allowed to pick from living or dead, it would be Johnny Cash.  I would love to sit next to him on a barstool just meandering through conversation and I don't even drink! If I have to pick someone who's alive, then um....Mother Teresa.  Wait.  what?!  Okay fine.  George W. Bush...I want a nickname from the former President.

Summarize life in one line:
It'll be okay in the end and if it's not okay, it's not the end.

Which Wonder Twins power would you activate?
The one that turns dog poop into flowers.

Which Saturday morning cartoon would you never miss?
Josie & The Pussycats.  Ask me about the plots or storylines and I can't tell you a thing though.

What matters to you?
My children.  And brushing my teeth.  And not losing my hair.  And lamp.  I love lamp.
